Lord…
We, Your lambs, are prone to wandering
Forsaking our fathers’ teaching
Turning back to our ways of wickedness
Fleeing Your staff…shutting out Your voice
Relying on our own wisdom, our vague and clouded understanding
Making naught all You’ve done for us…
Choosing to forget Your Word, and live life outside of Your Grace

We are undeserving
Of Your right, tender mercies…

And to think that You, the Shepherd, the Master,
Would become the Sacrificial Lamb to atone for all sins
Laying down Your life that WE may have life, and in abundance
How ungrateful are we…to turn away so foolishly
Giving in to the world, to its ways
Allowing sin to indwell…to corrupt…to destroy

Lord Jesus, the God Who became flesh
Reigning eternally; There is no other

There was a time when I thought profanity witless
Fool’s talk…barren words
Utterances of the feeble, those with pale intellect
My how my own speech has changed…

Take this tongue, dear Father in heaven
Girdle it; Teach me how to tame it
Let my understanding be found on Your Truth
My speech and my everything be modeled after You

In Your most precious Name, Jesus,
I pray these things. Amen and Amen.

“Stream-of-thought… Incomplete, disjointed.”

Note:
Two pieces, unfinished, loosely connected.
No real title... More jumbled thoughts.
An oddity. Honest confessions.
One of my favorites.
